Handle with Care
Everything you need to know about caring for your pottery, placing custom orders, and how it all works.
How do I care for my handmade pottery?
All pieces are food-safe and dishwasher-safe, but hand-washing is kindest to the glaze and will keep your piece looking its best for years. Avoid sudden temperature changes (like moving from freezer to oven) and your piece will last a lifetime.
Are your pieces microwave-safe?
Yes! All glazed pieces are microwave-safe. Just avoid metallic glazes — if a piece has any gold or silver detailing, keep it out of the microwave.
How do I claim a piece?
Head to The Goods page, find a piece you love, and hit the "Claim" button. You'll enter your name and we'll reach out to arrange pickup or shipping. Claimed pieces are held for 48 hours while we connect.
Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely! Custom orders are one of our favorite things. Use the Submit a Request form to tell me what you have in mind — dimensions, colors, intended use, and anything else that matters to you. Turnaround is typically 4–6 weeks.
Can I request a specific color or glaze?
Yes, within reason! I work with a curated palette of glazes. When you submit a request, describe the feeling or color family you're going for and I'll match you with the closest option from what's available.
How long does it take to make a piece?
Each piece goes through throwing, drying, bisque firing, glazing, and a final glaze firing. From start to finish that's typically 3–5 weeks for a standard piece, and up to 6–8 weeks for large or complex custom orders.
Do you ship?
Yes! Pieces are carefully wrapped and shipped via a tracked courier. Shipping costs are calculated based on size and destination. Local pickup is also available — just mention it when you claim your piece.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind — what does that mean?
Because everything is handmade on the wheel, no two pieces are exactly alike. You might order a "Morning Person Mug" but the exact weight, curve, and glaze finish will be subtly unique. That's the magic of it.
